Swing by the Newcastle City Library on March 7, 2025, for a laid-back evening where we'll dive into tales of our local leading ladies in honour of International Women's Day. Local historians Barbara Heaton and Christine Bramble will be there alongside our very own Sue Ryan, the Local Studies Librarian. They'll be dishing out stories about some phenomenal women from the area who've made their mark across various fields—think arts, politics, sports, and business. You'll get the inside scoop on the hurdles they jumped over, the wins they scored, and how they paved the way for the rest of us.

Oh, and don't worry about going thirsty or hungry—there will be snacks. So you can munch on something while you soak up the stories of these trailblazing women. Best part? It's free. Just make sure to book a spot, as you wouldn't want to miss out. If you've got any special access needs, just let us know when you sign up. This get-together is part of the Seniors Festival 2025, so it's bound to be both interesting and fab.
