Join us Thursday 7th December for the second edition of ‘A Kink in The Tale’, the new live and local storytelling event for adults!

A Kink in the Tale embraces diverse, sex-positive, and inclusive stories told live on stage.

Our special guest this month is Cadance Bell, a celebrated author/director/producer and writer. Her memoir, The All of It: A Bogan Rhapsody was shortlisted for The Age Book of the Year while her first fiction novel, Letters to Our Robot Son releases Easter 2024, after seventeen years in development. Currently she is developing a virtual reality feature experience and television projects for Netflix and Warner Bros.

Her documentary films include The Rainbow Passage, and Who I Am, the world’s first documentary exploring the intersection of gender diversity and autism.

Described by Benjamin Law as ‘…the human equivalent of Halley’s Comet : a once-in-a-lifetime blazing talent,’ Cady’s mission is to ‘unmake prejudice’ by encouraging audiences to know LGBTQIA+ stories.

If you’ve ever been to Queerstories, you may have caught this powerhouse, and she appeared earlier in the year up here on the Coast for Words on the Waves Writers Festival.

Cadence will be joined by fellow storytellers Jim Lawson, Daniel McIvor, Paris Rosemont (Banana Girl) and your host, Donné Restom.

Your Host:
‘A Kink in the Tale’ is the brainchild of Central Coast based writer, singer and storyteller, Donné Restom.

Long time lover of eroticism, irreverance, and saying out loud the things that make you blush, Donné was the sex advice columnist for Ralf magazine’s horny teens in her twenties, and the sex writer for the confused and exhausted mums of Kidspot in her thirties. She is the host of Words on the Waves’ ‘Late Night Lit’, and her erotic blueprint is The Shapeshifter: Loves all the sex, all time, all the ways, with all the people. And yes, she has the stories to prove it.

Paris Rosemont (Banana Girl), hailed as l’enfant terrible of the poetry scene, delights audiences with a devious undercurrent bubbling just beneath the surface of her calm exterior. Her edgy poetry has been published in international literary journals through to underground schlock-horror zines! Buckle up for a wild ride through the kooky imaginings of this kinky poetess.
