Cameron Jones is a guitarist who spent a good chunk of his youth chasing Django Reinhardt's shadow across Europe. He actually learned a few tricks from someone who was related to the legend, which gives his playing a sort of authenticity that feels a little out of reach for most of us. His music blends a steady, almost percussive rhythm with solos that sound freshly improvised, even if they're the result of careful practice. You'll hear a mix of pulsing beats and expressive melodies that keep the set feeling spontaneous and, at times, amusingly unpredictable.

On 18 November 2025 the Cameron Jones Trio will be on the stage at NIMA in Newcastle. The venue has a bar, a restaurant and public facilities, so you can sip a drink or grab a bite while you enjoy the show. The performance is expected to run just over an hour, giving you a decent dose of gypsy swing without taking up the whole evening.
