Head to the Hunter Wetlands Centre on Easter Saturday, April 4 2026, for a laid-back day of family shenanigans. Kids can bounce on the jumping castle, get their faces painted into masterpieces, dip-net for critters, craft some Easter goodies, watch a reptile show that might make the grown-ups squirm, play games on the lawn, and hunt down an Easter trail for prizes. The Easter Bunny will even pop in for selfies, so dust off that camera.
Grab a snag from the sausage sizzle, hit the cafe, or sprawl out with a picnic. Main action wraps at 1pm, but hang around until 4pm to wander the wetlands trails, climb the egret tower, or let the little ones loose on the playgrounds. Snag tickets online ahead to skip the queue, most stuffs included but check the site for the fine print. Its their big fundraiser, all cash back into keeping the wetlands wild for us and the wildlife. Theres a cafe, carpark, EV charging, toilets, shop, and its family friendly with disabled access, just give em a ring for details. Located at 1 Wetlands Place, Shortland, 2307.
