Presented by The Very Popular Theatre Company, & Juliet is coming to the Civic Theatre Newcastle on 24 June 2026. If you remember Shakespeare's original, it didn't exactly end well for Juliet. This version reckons she could do with a second chance, so she skips the poison and the balcony drama and writes her own story. It's a jukebox musical, meaning you'll hear pop hits like Since U Been Gone, Roar, Baby One More Time and Larger Than Life, all wrapped up in a glittery, feel good package. The whole thing is more about dancing in your seat than crying into a handkerchief.

The theatre has a bar, a cafe, and it's family friendly, though you might want to keep little ones away from the louder numbers. There are public toilets and non smoking areas. If you need disabled access, the venue says to contact them for details. Basically, if you're looking for a night out where Juliet gets a happier ending and you get to sing along to cheesy pop, this is your show. No tragedy required.
